Description: In the 1780s, artisans who made mezcal adopted the name Raicilla in order to avoid a tax imposed by the Spanish Crown. Four years ago, Chef Esteban Morales created La Venenosa Raicilla by traveling across parts of Mexico to find the best producers in each region. Today, there are four unique Raicillas made by four different Maestro Taberneros from four different regions using four different species of agave and four different techniques.
